Protecting, Restoring, and Enhancing Natural Resources

Assisting Hawai‛i Island farmers, ranchers, and conservationist since 1955 to conserve and manage natural resources

Welcome to Mauna Kea SWCD

We are dedicated to helping our community and agriculture producers to conserve, enhance, and restore natural resources that are important for the success of their operation. MKSWCD district spans from Kohala to Mauna Loa and covers 730,460 acres and up to 13,000 feet in elevation on the north side of Hawai‛i Island. We assist NRCS in creating conservation plans to provide grading and grubbing and technical assistance.

MKSWCD board meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month. Meetings are open to the public (Event Calendar). Please contact MKSWCD if interested in attending meetings, meeting dates may change due to unforeseen circumstances.
